HAZ MAT OPERATIONS LEVEL COURSES

These are 8-hour courses that will train the emergency responder on how to defensively manage a hazardous materials incident. It is recommended that the student for this course have already completed an awareness level haz mat class. The haz mat operations course is a pre-requisite for the haz mat technician course (to be held in February).

  • January 15th and 22nd 6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. each night at the Portage Fire District in Oak Harbor

  • -or-

  • January 13th and 20th 6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. each night at the Ottawa County Emergency Operations Center (1/13) and at Port Clinton Fire Department (1/20)

  • February 16th through 19th 6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. each night at the Ottawa County EOC
  • -and-

  • Saturday February 21st 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Findlay

Students must attend all sessions to complete the course. It is recommended that students have completed a haz mat operations course prior to completing this course.

The Ottawa County LEPC is sponsoring this course.

The Ottawa County LEPC will reimburse expenses for one meal for the Saturday session in Findlay, and reimburse mileage ($0.365/mile) for the trip to Findlay.
